More Good Christian Bigotry

I'm a huge fan of Hallmark's The Good Witch annual movies. There is a series of them and they advertise them on Hallmark's Facebook page. I and many others left comments about our happiness over the return. Sad to say, every year there are christian bigots commenting for them to remove the evil and filth and only play Christmas programs.

Well, evidently one trolling christian with nothing better to do decided to stalk all the fans on that page. Check out this message I received last night and my response under it:

I want you to be aware of something. The show The Good Witch on Hallmark is about devil worshippers and black magic! You seem like a nice person who has been swindled like so many others into accepting the devil into your home. You should accept our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Only in HIS name will you know true salvation. We must must must preserve wholesome programming for our children and the good of our world. The Good Witch promotes the devil and those who created the show are promoting the devil. Please do not share this program on your page and liking this show. It is your moral obligation as a Christian woman to promote our Saviour Jesus Christ and denounce all forms of Satan. Thank you for your time. I will look forward to seeing your new comments on the Hallmark Channel page."

Hello, A______. I would like to share with you my opinion of your message, and I hope you give my reply the same time and consideration as I gave yours.

As with all messages I receive from people I don't know, I followed the link to your page to learn more about you. I can now understand more fully the mentality behind your words.

See, A____, you have been led to believe so many lies about the world and about any non-christian that your entire profile screams of a level of ignorance, mistrust, anger, and bigotry unseen since the KKK practically ran this country.

I'll let you in on some things:

1. I am not a christian. Although I was raised a roman catholic, I escaped the church and all of christianity when I was around 31. It wasn't immediate since I first had to accept I had been living under lies, brainwashing, and manipulation, created so effectively by 12 years of catholic school leading us to only learn what would make the vatican look good and all others look evil. I am now a pagan in the strictest sense. I am not any religious belief. I am purely spiritual and refuse to ever again let mortal man tell me what to feel about the higher powers.

2. Witches were NEVER evil, NEVER associated with worshipping the devil, NEVER doing "black" magic.

The term "witch" was, actually, begun as a derogatory title given to the wise women who travelled from village to village thousands of years ago to perform spiritual and physical healing. They prayed to the gods with the villagers, provided home-made remedies (most of which you use in your home and which are the foundations for modern medicine), and acted as therapists for those in emotional turmoil.

The problem with all of this was that when the patriarchal societies (like Rome) came into the areas to convert and dominate, they didn't like seeing women with such influence and governmental power. Their own societies believed in women being worth less than livestock and only on Earth to be man's slave. This attitude was not met well in these lands they were after converting and dominating, so they had to use their common-place tactics of character assassination.

What were prayer circles become "spell casting." Home-made remedies became "evil spells and charms." Drawing any diagram to symbolize the love and respect for the God and Goddess became "demonic portholes to hell." And so on and so forth.

Regardless of your feelings toward multiple gods and even the suggestion of goddesses, the facts you cannot dispute are that none of those deities were evil. EVER.

3. "Satan" was never a real creature. The term was a mistranslation of Jewish texts that merely pertained to those who would not conform to the rules set out by the elders, and those who did not follow the holy teachings as strictly as they should. The term "satan" was never meant to be capitalized as it never pertained to a proper name. It is as if someone called you a, oh I don't know, bigot. So saying, "You are a satan," was the same as saying, "You are a bigot." Just with a difference in meaning.

4. Jesus Christ may have very well been a good man who tried to lead the people into a greater enlightenment, such as Gandhi and the Dali Lama. However, all of the "miracles" he is credited as having performed were written about over 30 years after his death, and even that text was changed over and over again -- updated for the times. Rome was responsible for this, as well.

See, Rome at the time had been worshipping what had originally been Greek gods and goddesses (Rome likes to go in and try to take control, manipulating a culture's system of belief to meet their own so they can convert and destroy it more easily). When Rome found it too tiresome to convert the Jewish people, they wanted to destroy their symbol of rebellion (Jesus). When that only made their fighting spirit stronger (the Jewish people loved Jesus as a chosen prophet of God), Rome decided to not only destroy the Jewish people's reputation as revenge, but they decided to make Jesus THEIR symbol. So.... in one fell swoop, they made everyone forget they were responsible for Jesus' death and put the blame on the Jewish people while claiming Jesus was the savior of the christians (Rome, the same people who wanted Jesus destroyed). To turn Jesus into a god of Rome, Rome went through all they knew of previous gods and stole from them to aid in their scheme to appeal to the world's religions so they could eventually take over.

I encourage you to read the history of Hercules, Buddha, Krishna, Romulus, Odysseus, Dionysis, Zoroaster, Thor, Glycon, Attis, and of course, Horus. Free your mind.

5. Any other comment you find of mine on the Hallmark page in dedication to The Good Witch series will ALWAYS be positive. It IS a wholesome movie series, teaches morals, dignity, good values, and has none of the bad elements you'd find in most other programs on TV. The only reason you and people like you don't see it as wholesome is because you are blinded by bigotry and won't even give it a chance to see for yourself. And fear. Fear is the greatest tactic religious leaders use to keep their members loyal. They want you afraid of other cultures so you can't see the truth and you can't find good anywhere else but with them.

Well, thank you so much for your unsolicited bigotry. I'll look forward to your reply!"

She never replied :)
